Community Guidelines
Effective Date: 01.01.2025
1. Purpose and Scope
These Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") establish the standards of conduct for all users, businesses, service providers, advertisers, and other participants ("Community Members") engaging with the Looked LLC professional networking and business services platform ("Platform"). These Guidelines are incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, forming a comprehensive framework for acceptable use of our services. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with these Guidelines in addition to all applicable laws and regulations. The Platform reserves the absolute right to interpret and enforce these Guidelines in its sole discretion, taking into account the professional nature of our community and our commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and legally compliant environment for business interactions.
2. Professional Conduct Standards
All Community Members must engage in respectful, ethical, and professional communications at all times. This includes but is not limited to: maintaining courteous and constructive dialogue in all interactions; refraining from personal attacks, harassment, or bullying; and avoiding inflammatory language or behavior that could reasonably offend others. Discrimination or hateful conduct based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or other protected characteristics is strictly prohibited. Professional disagreements should be expressed respectfully and factually, without resorting to defamatory statements, threats, or intimidation tactics. The Platform is not a forum for political debates or social activism unrelated to professional business matters, and such content may be removed at our discretion.
3. Prohibited Content Categories
The Platform maintains zero tolerance for certain categories of harmful or illegal content, including but not limited to: hate speech or content promoting discrimination; pornography or sexually explicit material; violent content or threats of harm; misinformation that could impact health, safety, or professional decision-making; content that violates privacy rights including doxing or non-consensual intimate media; material promoting illegal activities or regulated goods/services without proper authorization; and intellectual property infringement such as pirated software or counterfeit goods. The Platform also prohibits content that could reasonably be viewed as facilitating academic or professional dishonesty, including but not limited to cheating services, fake credential offerings, or plagiarism tools. We may remove content that falls into these prohibited categories without prior notice and take appropriate action against accounts responsible for such violations.
4. Authenticity and Identity Verification
Community Members must maintain authentic, verifiable identities on the Platform. Individuals must use their real names as they appear on government-issued identification, while businesses and organizations must use their legally registered names. Impersonation of any person or entity, creation of fake accounts, or misrepresentation of professional qualifications or affiliations is strictly prohibited. The Platform employs various verification methods and may require additional identity confirmation at any time. Community Members must not artificially manipulate engagement metrics through any means including but not limited to: automated bots; coordinated inauthentic behavior; reciprocal rating schemes; or any other method designed to falsely represent popularity, credibility, or influence. All connections, followers, and engagement must develop organically through genuine professional interactions.
5. Commercial Communications and Advertising
Unsolicited commercial messages, spam, or irrelevant promotional content are prohibited outside of designated advertising channels. Only authorized advertisers may run promotional campaigns through the Platform's official advertising systems. Service providers must accurately represent their qualifications, experience, and offerings without exaggeration or misleading claims. Pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing propositions, and other potentially exploitative business models may be restricted or prohibited at the Platform's discretion. Community Members must clearly disclose any material connections or compensation arrangements that could influence the objectivity of their recommendations or endorsements. The Platform reserves the right to remove commercial content that fails to meet these standards and to restrict the posting privileges of repeat offenders.
6. Review and Recommendation Integrity
The Platform's review and recommendation systems must be used honestly and ethically. All reviews must reflect genuine experiences and fact-based opinions. Community Members may not: offer incentives for positive reviews; solicit reviews from unqualified parties; post false negative reviews about competitors; or manipulate reviews through any form of coercion or deception. Businesses may professionally respond to reviews but may not harass reviewers or pressure them to modify their feedback. The Platform employs sophisticated detection systems to identify suspicious review patterns and may remove reviews that violate these standards or appear inauthentic. Community Members may flag questionable reviews for investigation, but the Platform retains final authority over all content moderation decisions.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Community Members must respect privacy rights and data protection laws in all Platform interactions. This includes but is not limited to: not sharing sensitive personal information (e.g., Social Security Numbers, financial account details) in public posts; obtaining proper consent before sharing others' contact information or work samples; and complying with all applicable data protection regulations when processing information obtained through the Platform. Community Members must not attempt to circumvent Platform security measures, exploit vulnerabilities, or engage in unauthorized data collection activities. Any suspected security vulnerabilities should be reported immediately to the Platform's security team through approved channels. The Platform monitors for potential privacy violations and may remove content or restrict accounts that threaten community members' privacy or data security.
8. Intellectual Property Rights
Community Members must respect all intellectual property rights when posting content or using Platform features. This includes but is not limited to: not sharing copyrighted material without proper authorization; respecting trademark protections in business communications; and properly attributing third-party content when reference or fair use is permitted. The Platform complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar international copyright frameworks. Rights holders may submit takedown notices for infringing content, while users may file counter-notices if they believe content was mistakenly removed. The Platform maintains a repeat infringer policy that may result in permanent account termination for Community Members with multiple valid copyright violations. Community Members retain ownership of their original content but grant the Platform a license to display and distribute it as outlined in our Terms of Service.
9. Reporting and Enforcement Mechanisms
The Platform provides multiple channels for reporting potential violations of these Guidelines, including in-app reporting tools and dedicated email addresses for specific concerns. Reports should include detailed information and any available evidence to facilitate thorough investigation. The Platform prioritizes reports based on severity and potential harm, with urgent threats to safety or security receiving immediate attention. Enforcement actions may include but are not limited to: content removal; temporary feature restrictions; account suspension; or permanent banning. The Platform considers various factors when determining appropriate enforcement, including the severity of violation, intent, and the Community Member's history on the Platform. Law enforcement may be contacted in cases involving illegal activity or credible threats to personal safety.
10. Appeal Process and Dispute Resolution
Community Members may appeal enforcement actions through our formal review process. Appeals must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the enforcement action and must include: a detailed explanation of why the action should be reconsidered; any supporting evidence or documentation; and a statement affirming compliance with these Guidelines moving forward. The Platform will review appeals in a timely manner and communicate decisions through official channels. All appeal decisions are final and made at the Platform's sole discretion. For matters not resolved through the appeal process, Community Members may be entitled to pursue other remedies as outlined in our Terms of Service, including binding arbitration where applicable.
11. Platform Enforcement Rights
The Platform reserves the broad right to enforce these Guidelines through whatever means it deems appropriate in its sole discretion. This includes but is not limited to: removing or restricting access to content that violates these Guidelines; suspending or terminating accounts of repeat offenders; and implementing technical restrictions to prevent policy violations. In cases of severe or repeated violations, the Platform may take these actions without prior warning. The Platform may also cooperate with law enforcement agencies and other platforms to address cross-platform abuse or illegal activity. Nothing in these Guidelines limits the Platform's rights or remedies under applicable law or our Terms of Service.
12. Policy Updates and Modifications
The Platform may update these Community Guidelines periodically to reflect changes in: legal and regulatory requirements; industry standards; Platform features and services; or community needs. Material changes will be communicated to Community Members through Platform notifications and/or email, with the updated version posted on our website. The "Effective Date" at the top of these Guidelines will indicate when revisions were last made. Continued use of the Platform after updates take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines. Community Members who cannot comply with updated Guidelines should discontinue using the Platform. The Platform reserves the right to make immediate changes to address legal requirements or significant safety concerns without prior notice.
